I don’t know if this is really clever, funny, or just sad – clothing that can be transformed into makeshift shelter.  I’m pretty sure the people who really need it won’t be able to afford it.

Today’s weekend escape is this cutting edge kitchen design from a concept camper trailer (or caravan, for Europeans) brought out in 2008 by the Austrian company Mehrzeller. It was developed from a project of the Technical University, Graz. I don’t know about camping, I’d be delighted to have this in my house ….

Although in these pictures the interior is a little reminiscent of a snow cave, or some kind of sensory deprivation chamber – not closely related to any camping experience I’ve ever had.  Do minimalism and camping really go together?

orange-tent I couldn’t resist this solar tent concept that I found on impactlab.  It’s made from solar powered fabric, has under-groundsheet heating, and will glow when you text it.  I  can’t wait to get mine!
