Five Eames -y pieces
Or pictures, at least. Eames shell chairs are multiplying around kitchen tables everywhere. I don’t know which are original, which are reproduction, which are copies, and which are fakes – or for that matter, whether my rear would know the difference – but they make eminently practical kitchen chairs:
I’m especially seeing them in white, with the dowel legs – bringing just a touch of American warmth to cool, crisp Scandinavian kitchens:
No doubt, now they’re so ubiquitous, the cool kids will be moving on to something else (I know, I know, they probably have already done so). But I say, way to go, Charles and Ray! I’m happy to see an iconic American design gone so global.

Hi Kim – it’s been a stealth invasion. I wouldn’t be surprised to turn round and find one appearing in my kitchen, any minute…
I don’t know how it is, but within the past few months I’ve gone from not knowing what an Eames chair is to seeing them everywhere, even real life! (My neighbor’s place.) Either modern really is becoming more commonplace or I have been under a log for years.
