Basic bathroom storage?
Caught sight of this on Remodelista today – apparently the bucket is for handy storage of bathroom items:

Silly me, I took it for an extremely low tech flushing mechanism. I wouldn’t like to be in range if that thing really got swinging – galvanized buckets are pretty hard and unforgiving.
