Kitchen Clarity Adventures in Kitchen and Bath Design

Summery Swedish Kitchens

06.22.2010 · Posted in Kitchens

Found at Inredningsbloggen – more proof that Swedish style embraces the relaxed and charming as well as ice-cool minimalism.  Even though I’ve never been to Sweden, I dream of spending a summer in a water-side cottage (like this one)  in the Stockholm archipelago.

There’s a time and a place for everything -  I know I could happily embrace cottagey clutter in my summer cabin, just so long as I’m allowed to have sleek minimalism for my flat in town.

Are all designers “design gluttons”? I could never restrict myself to one design style for life – and in the absence of Oprah-like millions to buy all the homes I’d like to design, the only way I could satisfy my gluttony was to become a professional desgner. (No, it’s not for the big bucks, sorry to disillusion you).

Steph – yes! It’s either join a 12 step group for design gluttons, or become a designer and earn money from it. Easy choice, really!

  2. I think that’s why I became a designer too!
I would like a super contemporary home, mid-century modern home, rustic mountain cabin , cottage country home….there may be more.
I always dream of all my different homes! :)

  3. Oh now Francois, please don’t shatter my illusion! I’ll just carry on imagining that there is not a style-less molecule to be found in the whole country.

I stayed in Sweden recently. It would be lovely if it all looked like that!
