Sleek and simple kitchens

I’ve been on a traditional kick lately – let’s redress that today with some sleek and citified kitchens.  I like this layout, with its arrays of appliances in the wings. Yes, it probably violates some  “rules” about landing spaces, but it works for me:

Works for me

A bit of a bowling alley look?  Plenty of work surface, and windows to die for:

Long and cool

I think the architecture wins out below, too – the kitchen is just  a little too busy – it doesn’t quite achieve sleekness:

Busy, busy

No such problems here – how cool is this?

Mouthwash fresh?

Without the black appliances it would be positively glacial:

Amazing faucet, too

Here’s another beautifully simple design:

So simple

The aptly named “Star” hood by Elica is a great contrast against the simple background

  1. Well I don’t suppose you are supposed to cook in this kitchen, are you? Just get your microwavable dinners from Marks and Spencers or Waitrose — all very good, by the way, streets ahead of Stouffers and Whole Foods.

  2. How on EARTH does someone keep that Star hood clean?
