(Hope that doesn't unmake your day!) If someone installed the CYCLES sign there "just because" then it does seem a little silly. But maybe the sign is all that's left from the grandfather's business or it has some other very personal meaning. Who knows? What I don't understand is putting a KITCHEN sign in the kitchen. Maybe these are people who eat out all the time and wouldn't recognize their own kitchen without signage? It's beyond me... The whole signs/words thing is interesting.
