Collapsible kitchen

03.02.2010 · Posted in Kitchens

Here’s and interesting concept for a kitchen – not only portable and compact, but completely collapsible too – the work of Burkhard Schäller, the Magdelena Gravity kitchen exhibited at the Talents section at Ambiente 2010 Consumer Goods Fair in Frankfurt (via)

A kitchen framework

The sink elevation

A cooktop for minimalists

A place for everything...

... and everything in its place

I guess you are in serious trouble here if your utensils happen to be a different shape or size! Could this really be the future of kitchen design?

  1. Paul, maybe you could get a custom wall designed? Or with plenty of plastic covered wire and a pair of pliers, could it be a DIY project?

  2. Hi Francois – with this design you could easily set up the kitchen in your shed or anywhere else, I think. Love Julia’s practical style.

That reminds me of some shed setups on that board with the holes in. Anyway, draw round all the tools and then you know where to put them back, or if anything is missing.

Like in the background of this Julia Child picture…

  4. Wow. But where would I put my silicone spatulas, wooden spoons and mandolin?
