Can you ever have too much color?
I’m still on my Spring color fling – don’t worry, I’m sure I’ll soon be over it and back to sober and restrained hues. If you’re still shivering in some Northern clime, think of this as an appetizer. If Spring has sprung where you are, then let’s celebrate. And if you’re in the tropics, well, just think of all the excitement you miss out on by not having seasons to enjoy. Whether the color is in the accessories, or in the walls and cabinets, these kitchens (some old, some new) have all got that Spring thing going on:
If you are still suffering the vicissitudes of Winter, you could always follow the example of this family, and create your very own indoor Spring, complete with grass to picnic on, and even bunnies:
Good idea, or a bad case of cabin fever? If you live in a concrete box like this, I guess you need to do something to bring it to life.

Hi Will – well, you probably can have too much color. I’m convinced that bold bright colors will keep people moving faster – a good thing if you’re trying to get the kids to wake up, eat breakfast and get off to school in time, but not so much if you want to have a long relaxing dinner. Then you have to consider romantic lighting so that the color disappears – and always eat after dark.
My girlfriend in college had me help her paint the kitchen in her apartment once. She showed me that she had chosen a bright, extremely loud shade of orange. I begrudgingly helped, but in this instance it truly was too much color and there was no sense of relaxation there. I must say though, despite how colorful a lot of those pictures are they’re all quite good looking.
