Sci-fi Friday

12.04.2009 · Posted in Oh, really?

This pastel colored, pool-side, outdoor seating area really makes me smile:

A bevy of blobs

A bevy of blobs

Doesn’t this look like a lunch gathering of the one-armed pink-pudding people? Humans would be entirely superfluous, unless seated ever so sedately the other side of the pool.

And if that isn’t a matter-transporter beam in the center of this table, it really should be:

Beam it down?

Beam it down?

The work of Doug Meyer via Decorati – isn’t it good to see someone having so much fun with design?

  1. Hi Francois – that would be just so convenient, wouldn’t it? Tho’ as I understand it, once we have transporters and replicators, we won’t need to recycle anymore. Hmm – I still don’t understand how that works, really

  2. Teletubbies, of course – I knew they looked familiar. Thanks Kelly!

  3. The first thing I thought when I saw the top photo: “Oh, Teletubbies!” Clearly a space where they can relax after a show.

I’m very glad I wasn’t drinking anything when I got to your transporter remark. You really should have beverage alerts for your posts! (It is a fun design, but I fear that box of cacti wouldn’t wait long to claim me if it were mine. Ow.)

  4. I think I can see a wine bottle going up the transporter beam. Straight to recycling?
