Architect designed seaside kitchen
This beachfront apartment in Belgium has so many of my favorite elements and details: clean lines, light and airy spaces, carrara marble, the wonderful artichoke light fixture, and of course most important, ocean views:

Isn’t that little accent of the line of cabinets in seaside colors a brilliant touch? Just looking at this is like a lungful of sea air. And see what happens when you actually need to cook:

Yes that’s right, a genius solution to my favorite bugbear, microwave location. And isn’t that deep ocean blue wonderful? Here’s a closer look at how it works. and you get to see the sea-and-sky colored iridescent tile, too.

The carrara (yes I do mean Carrara, the name of the town in the region of Italy where the marble for Michelangelo’s David was mined. You can call it Carrera if you want, nearly everyone does, but that is the name of the zippy car by Porsche, and as far as I know nothing has been quarried from it yet) is carried right through the apartment – here’s one of the bathrooms:

Gotta love those portholes, perfect for the seaside location. And now the living area and balcony, with the view:

Yes, lots of great elements and materials, colors of sea and sky, clean lines – I don’t know about you, but I’m beginning to feel cold… I’m just not enough of a neatnik to live in a space as rigorously minimal as this. What do you think? (via OWI)
