White kitchens – clean and crisp
Here are some of the white kitchen pictures I collected on my recent cyber visit to Finland. First a very clean lined, white on white kitchen. (via Krisu)

White on white kitchen
That much white in a kitchen design makes it very pure, almost clinical – especially as the glass backsplash and the cabinet fronts are smooth and glossy – not even grout lines or cabinet pulls to provide some contrast. Lovely to look at, but perhaps hard to live with? Of course white is the perfect backdrop for lively accessories and individual touches, things that are much easier to change than the kitchen finishes.

Another white, contemporary kitchen, but this time warmed by the wood floor and the red accents – again the backslash is a cool color, but this time we have the texture of tile. And some cabinet pulls too. It’s definitely a warmer, more welcoming kitchen design.
And last, a more transitional look – still plenty of white, but now we have routed detail on the doors, and rich wood counters and toekicks that echo the colors in the rest of the house. I like the detail of the textured backsplash too. This look really reminds me of a yacht galley kitchen, although wood counters can be a problem around a sink, they are going to require plenty of maintenance, even if they are a naturally oily wood like teak.
