Here is a perfect example of an English cottage kitchen. So fresh and inviting, with the quarry tiles and wood counters adding plenty of warmth. Of course, the gorgeous big window (and are those operable shutters?), the diagonal chimney breast and the floor tiles give this room a great ambiance to start with.
Nice touches are the couch you can just see in the bottom left (that would definitely encourage lingering), and the old fashioned clothes airer above the range. The little halogen lights in the ceiling bring it right up to date.
I’m afraid this one is not eligible for the Aga contest, as to the best of my knowledge the range in this picture is a Rayburn. It should win prizes for pure charm though, shouldn’t it?
